▎精油簡介
胡蘿蔔有許多種類，是一或兩年生草本植物，直立多支，莖幹可長到1.5米，精油是萃取自野生的胡蘿蔔種子，莖葉可做成乾燥香草，增添茶飲或利口酒的香氣。一般食用胡蘿蔔品種與萃取精油的品種，莖葉很類似，但野生胡蘿蔔的組織比較粗，且根部不可食用，整棵植物可以蒸餾出精油，主產地來自歐洲，有些則來自埃及和印度。
胡蘿蔔很早之前就被當食物使用，在希臘的藥典中也記載很多關於胡蘿蔔被用於利肝和利胃的效果；法國也將胡蘿蔔籽當醫療處方，用於健胃、肝臟解毒、傷口癒合等效用，近代臨床也將胡蘿蔔籽應用在癌症病人身上，對於視力保養更是不可或缺的元素；而精油較常用於身體皮膚的保養。
▎成分解析
｜主要成分：倍半萜醇
主要成分為胡蘿蔔次醇，具有幫助細胞修護的作用，另有α-蒎烯，β-石竹烯，以及微量檸檬烯、沉香醇、萜品烯-4-醇等其他成分。

▸ 研究顯示加入胡蘿蔔籽油的乳液，對於抗氧化潛力有相關的研究。
▸ 研究發現胡蘿蔔籽精油及其純化合物胡蘿蔔醇，是蚊子不喜歡的味道，數據顯示這些天然產品有可能被開發為天然噴霧。
