▎Essential Oil Introduction
Tangerine trees primarily grow in China, the United States, and Sicily, Italy. The orange-yellow essential oil is obtained through the cold pressing of its peel.
Tangerine essential oil possesses a unique freshness and a sweet, aromatic scent characterized by its lively and invigorating nature. Its fragrance is known to uplift the spirit and help alleviate emotional distress, providing a sense of warmth, comfort, and calmness.
Tangerines and red mandarins come from the same plant, with the difference lying in the timing of peel extraction during the ripening process. Tangerine essential oil is derived from the peel of semi-ripe fruit, while red mandarin essential oil comes from fully ripened fruit.
Both oils are chemically and functionally similar and are considered gentle. However, each oil has its unique qualities, as the ripening process subtly alters the chemical composition and aroma of the resulting essential oil.
